Special Issue Call for Papers Issue 1 2024: Promising developments in early childhood research and pedagogies

Linda Mitchell
Abstract:

Promising developments in early childhood research and pedagogies

Early Childhood Folio is seeking articles for this special issue focusing on developments and possibilities in early childhood research and pedagogies that can serve as a catalyst for thinking, discussion and transformative practice. Articles set within a contemporary context and that consider how developments might respond to issues of our time are of particular interest. For example, Alison Clark, amongst others, has called for the value of slow knowledge and slow pedagogy against the backdrop of time pressures on children, teachers and families. What are the pressures on those participating in early childhood education? How might research and pedagogy respond to these pressures? How do these responses link to values and the purposes of early childhood education?

Articles should be research-based, follow the guidelines for writers for Early Childhood Folio and be submitted for this special issue. The due date is extended to 1 March 2024.

Author guidelines are available at https://www.nzcer.org.nz/nzcerpress/early-childhood-folio/submission-gui... or email linda.mitchell@waikato.ac.nz
