The financial capability of secondary students, and the place of financial capability in secondary schools - summary report

This report summarises research carried out for the Commission for Financial Capability into financial capability in secondary schools. We also produced a brochure for schools and parents, setting out the main findings from the research. More information is available from the commission.

The research, in 2014, involved surveying students, teachers and school leaders to investigate the attitudes, behaviours and experience of secondary students towards money and money management. The research also looked at the range of financial capability programmes in New Zealand and barriers to the teaching of financial capability.
